About Us

Hobbee started as a student-led initiative dedicated to breaking social barriers and celebrating abilities. We create spaces where people with and without disabilities connect as equals, not through lectures, but through experiences that spark empathy, curiosity, and real human connection.

We believe that inclusion begins with a simple moment: the decision to step into someone else's story.

Our Mission

To lead the organization and planning of experiential events that build consciousness around disability inclusion and social issues within student communities, turning awareness into understanding, and understanding into lasting community.

Our Vision

A campus and society where inclusion is lived, not discussed, where differences are normalized through shared experiences, and where every individual feels seen, valued, and welcomed.

Why We Exist

Many people rarely get the chance to meet or learn directly from individuals with disabilities. That distance creates stereotypes, uncertainty, and sometimes fear. We close that gap through events that humanize disability, from wheelchair sports to blind-stick tours to our signature speed-dating conversations. These moments transform assumptions into empathy and turn strangers into friends.

I have no disability. The world around me makes me have a disability.

Our Three Pillars

Spreading Awareness

Experiential activities — such as wheelchair tours, blind-stick walks, interactive simulations, and adaptive sports — help participants recognize that inclusion issues are real, present, and solvable.

Spreading Understanding

Workshops, panel talks, and Living Library speed-dating sessions deepen empathy through direct conversations with people with disabilities who share their lived experiences and perspectives.

Building a Community

Co-creation initiatives, volunteering programs, and collaborations with disability-focused organizations create a self-sustaining ecosystem where inclusion becomes a shared responsibility.
